Build your Brand
Having great skills and talent isn’t enough anymore. We all have a unique sound, look, personality, and perspective. Build your brand around what makes you stand out as an individual.
Defining your brand and connecting with your audience is just as important as your skills.
Create Content for yourself
You don’t have to become a TikTok Influencer DJ...Find whatever format is comfortable for you so that you are able to create the content you enjoy consistently.
Work with a Team
It takes a village! It’s great to be involved in every aspect of your career but sometimes having a great team to support you can give you that extra push you need to level up. Learn to let go and delegate certain tasks that will allow you to free up time to focus on the high-priority areas you are strong in.
Be Patient
If you don’t quit, you won’t lose.
We all want it now, but if you’re able to think in the long term then you won’t make decisions that can set you back in the short term. Don’t compare your journey to others….your time will come.
Avoid Burnout
As DJs and artists, it’s easy to get wrapped up in your work and identity. It can seem like a 24/7 job at times. Always prioritize your mental and physical health as this is the foundation for everything else.
Allowing yourself to rest and reset throughout the week will give you more clarity and energy going into your gigs.
Don’t be afraid to switch up your schedule and allow yourself to play a variety of different styles so you don’t feel stagnant or bored.
